- In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson:
- A) CHAPTERS 5, 6 & 7- READ along using the novel as you LISTEN to the oral reading. (May-July)-Shirley not being an obedient Chinese girl by withholding details about her black eyes; teacher making connection between Jackie Robinson & civics-America allows us to be anything that we desire; Shirley again defying her parents by volunteering them to take over as landlords of the tenet building
- B) WRITE notes using "In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson Chapter Notes/Quotes" graphic organizer.
- ILLUSTRATE: the main idea of chapters 5, 6 & 7: May-July and identify a quote from each chapter that is significant (important) to the novel using the "Main idea illustration" graphic organizer & write an explanation below the illustration.
